Thanks all for following this thread. It was nice to have all you participating and not just me posting.

I still can't believe that it had almost 4000 views in just 24 hrs.

Gut feeling Wayne would make it. Forgot about how the Prius 'doesn't do well on the highway'. Well, with Wayne at the wheel, that theory seemed to just fly right out the door.

CONGRATULATIONS to Wayne! You did a superb job and with media following, we hypermilers are gaining momentum with our push to save America. Keep up the good work, you deserve mucho kudos!

Thanks to everyone for their part in spreading the word, especially Wayne for doing what he does, I know it's hard work for him but the rewards are endless.

Just wanted to add that the peice this peice featured on the Early show was the first time I had ever heard of hypermiling. I got to work that morning and instantly logged on to this site and with a 10-12 mpg average in my 2004 Kia Sedona I am going to try everything that is being suggested to me (see my post and replies in Start your Journey here). So this peice hopefully brought great exposure and people will do as I have and really implement it to the best of their abilities and be commited.

We probably would have had more views--I got a "come back later" message yesterday.

    Great job, Wayne!

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party. This aired just as I was headed out the door to go to work. I'm just glad that I heard that he made it before I left.:) I don't think I really ever doubted though that he would make from the preliminary numbers I was seeing. So, CONGRATS WAYNE!!!

I had a busy day at work, but I did check to see if he made it before I left this morning. Congrats, Wayne.

I just spoke with Wayne and he is unable to get online at the moment due to the expense. He did read the last two pages of this thread (on Ken's Blackberry) and wants to thank all of you for your support! It was very encouraging for him and he believes this is something we are all in and working through.

A tremendous welcome is also conveyed from him to all our new members! You are also part of the solution to our oil consumption habits.

Did anyone notice that Wayne had 2 SG-IIs in his Prius about 1:01 into the results video? I'm assuming that since an SG-II can only display 4 gauges at a time, Wayne somehow managed to patch his other SG-II into the car's computer to display 4 additional gauges.

Here's the link to the results video from this morning...

Wayne, is this something you could elaborate on for us? Would be nice to know if it's possible to patch another SG-II into the same OBD2 port for additional information.

Congratulations again on a successful experiment. CBS did a wonderful job on the reporting.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Jeff, this can be done by hooking the second Scanguage into the other port of the original Scanguage. You only need to get a cable that has the connector that plugs into the Scanguage itself on both ends.

Sweet! So the SG-IIs can be daisy chained together. I never thought it was possible but makes complete sense with the extra port. Thanks for the tip :)
