In my incredible dissapointment of my recent FE I set out to make some good news for myself... when they re-open the mckinley bridge, my commute is going to be cut from 34.7 miles to 23.9 and according to google maps it will only take one min longer (45 min as opposed to 44) YAY! I'm in a much better mood, the bridge should be open in exactly 1 month!!!
MasterCard helps everything. I got one of these. So far so good. I've never really used a trackball before but I now understand why some people are so fanatical about them...much more comfortable than a mouse. Side note: what do you call those people who are fanatical about trackballs? Hyperpointers?
early bird eats worms! My day begins in the middle of the night :3a.m. wake up & out the door by 4 ...*gasp* it's Still night ...I don't care what anyone says ! Then on my way home at 2 p.m. One of the biggest bummers about my division shutting down - losing the people I work with and the best hours(next to not working but still "in the money" ) . My area is *the* last of the 8 hour shifts .
That's the one I was looking at this weekend! Now I need to get one -connected to a new pc On your sidenote : depends on "how" you roll the ball
Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday. Temps were a bit warmer and there was no rain. Segments 1 & 2 were at 48F and the rest were at ~55F. Segment 3 was into a 10-15 mph headwind. 1) 72.0-5.8 2) 76.8-9.6 3) 71.7-9.6 4) 97.6-6.3 5) 77.2-5.4 6) 108-5.1 Average for today was 83.5 and the tank is at 80.5 after 48.5 miles.
There ya go laurie! Back to the 1 & 3 month averages!!The weather is making it a bit tougher but you still have it !
I filled up today --12.041 gallons over 487.1 miles for the Black Ranger's first over 40 tank.:Banane06: If Wayne keeps driving his Ranger I will never catch his average, but maybe if he parked his Ranger for the next 5,000 miles I drive.....Hmmm......... Wayne, shouldn't you be doing your daily driving in a hybrid to practice for The Great Race ?
Cooler, windier in Ohio now. First two days in a row not getting above 60 FE in a long time (spring I think). Trying to get my last tank above 60 in before global cooling.
Good Grief Man!! Weather turning and you break a 40mpg tank?!! You are on a roll... How am I supposed to catch up to your average?? Heh... park YOUR Ranger for about 5,000 miles... Hmmmm.... Well, you certainly are giving me something to shoot for! Nice work, ILAveo, very nice work. Work to school, horrible traffic, 32.6, school back to work, better but cool, 36.7.
Hi ILAveo and Ken: ___If it makes you two feel any better, I had to pull the landscape trailer out of the garage, pull the mower out of a depression and put the trailer back into the garage for a grand total of … Drum roll please … 6.7 and .3 mpg over ~ 300’ :ccry: ___Good Luck ___Wayne
I still have much to learn. Only 58.1 last tank. I filled up because tomorrow my girlfriend takes the Civic Hybrid on her annual girls' roadtrip up to the Ithaca, NY area. I figured it would give her and her friends (all vegans) more eco-cred up there than her Saturn. But the damage to my FE average!
Nice to see the numbers stay up from all despite the onset of fall. Looks like people are learning the secret art of "cold weather-fu" well. Better than tuesday for me, and in slightly colder temps. :woot: 91.0 / 11.5 miles / 50F 73.4 / 11.5 miles / 46F 81.3 / 23.0 miles for the day. :woot: An 80+ RT in <50 avg temps. I'll take it. The tank's at 82.2 / 671 miles / 1 pip, and 48 days old.
It still hasn't cooled down much here (though I am switching over to the furnace tomorrow from the swamp cooler-- a funny concept for you humidity sufferers). Anyway, it is still pretty hot going home but since I can stand it haven't had the a/c on all month. I am getting 40+ averages since starting P&G, my going home commutes have gotten better thru improved DWL (I think this is harder actually). Thanks for all the kind applause!! --des
58.1 for a tank in an HCH2 is great - and better than 90% of the HCH2 on the road. I offered my Wife $10 towards a date for every mpg over 50 on a trip she took with the girls. Came back at 44mpg. She took me out on a date and paid (with our money...). Try it and tell me how it works out with girlfriends...
COLD!! I knew when I woke up it was going to be a cool morning...43F. (The sky was crystal clear all night.) Not even 66mpg for the trip, tank showing 67.6mpg at 223mi.
39.8 MPG going home yesterday afternoon on a slightly different route. 39.4 MPG this morning (46ºF) over 13.1 miles. No grill blocking. Home --> Bank --> Work. The guess gauge is one needle's width below 3/4. SG reads 41.8 MPG over 187 miles. I'll need some good segments to hold the tank above 40.
Wow, you guys are doing very well for the conditions! Glad you're feeling better ATL! Wayne, anyone else probably would have been at less than a third of what you got -- knowing you! This morning was slightly warmer but boy did the traffic make me work for it!!! 43F, no wind, overcast: 50.0mpg for 22.5 (Home to work -- and now suddenly the 0.3 comes back??) The tank is now at 47.9mpg over 102.1mi with 13.9g left. Looks like it will be a tad warmer this afternoon with a slight wind from the S to help me.
43.3 on the way home, 38.7 to work this morning in pretty darn chilly and medium heavy traffic. Tank is at 37.0 for 441 miles. Wayne, I feel your pain...but a part of me is snickering with glee
Got cold for FL this morning! Temps in the high 60's - talk about a nice surprise. Filled up this morning! 558.5 miles and 13.8 gallons of gas later I managed to eek out 40.5 MPG. Not too bad for 100% city driving. By the way, Driver Information System said 41.8 MPG - a little optimistic. Went to air up the tires (they were down to ~42 PSI) and the pump actually *deflated* them to 38 PSI! Grr - will have to go to another station to air up. It's good to have a full tank again.
