    Hi All:

Not that this is directly related but I am now in the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid in Limited trim and here is its TPMS display. All 4 tires showing the individual tire pressures.

I sure wish Toyota had included the 4 individual tire pressure system on the RAV4 Hybrid. :(

Nice. That's the way they all should be.

If it is as accurate as my Camry, those tires are at 30 to 28psi.

    Hi All:

Well, my mom wants the RAV4 Hybrid so we took her Prius v out to CarMax and a local dealership. CarMax offered $8k while the dealership offered $9k. Both were willing to come down $1k off MSRP on a 2020 so that is what my parents are now leaning towards. There is supposedly one 2020 XLE in white with black interior - mandatory color choices, convenience and cold weather packages with no BS attached somewhere in the state that they will try and trade for.

I will let you know how this goes tomorrow.

Wondering if a firmware update would't be enough to allow for individual tire monitoring. The data is already there, it's just not presented to the owner for use. Kind of like how much more is available with a Scangauge but not on built in tools on MFD.

I actually have a blank screen when toggling through the MFD, so I'm sure it just means a software update to enable it on other models

    Hi All:

Well, my parents placed $500 down on an AWD 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE with the Convenience and Cold weather pkg. After visiting three different dealerships, we ended up at the same Toyota dealership that my parents purchased the 2012 Toyota Prius v from back in 2011.

CarMax offered just $8k and $1k off MSRP, the second WI area dealership offered $9k and $1k off MSRP but waned to charge $299 for BS alarm that it took me 10-minutes of "No" before they said ok, we will remove that but their Doc fee was $299. Neither had the vehicle but would try and trade for it.

The IL Toyota dealer gave us $9k for the Prius v, $1k off MSRP for the 2020 RAV4 XLE with the two packages, and no DOC BS fees. They do not have it and are trying to trade for it in the morning. We shall see if it goes through or not?

If they had waited til next summer , they could have had a RAV4 PHEV with 39 mile range.

    Hi Edwin:

I already conveyed my thoughts to my mom since I knew about and have already knew and posted the RAV4 Prime details. If the Waukegan area Toyota dealership does not come through with the XLE as spec'ed, they will wait.

    Hi All:

The local Toyota dealer just called stating what they want is not available but it is if they would accept mud guards, blacked out OEM badging, door edge crap, wheel lock crap for an extra $603. I told her I would not and she will probably tell them nope as well.

Which means there will be 2 RAV4 Prime PHEVs coming into my family this summer. ;)

Be sure to tell them you want paint protection and undercoating and are willing to pay for it.

    Hi Thunderstruck:

And that good ole Scotchguard Fabric Protector too! :D :D :D

Many dealers are still trying to get away with this $299 to $499 alarm which is $25 part incl. install. Why the avg consumer puts up with that non-sense is beyond me?

    Hi All:

A new 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE AWD CUV entered the family this afternoon.

    2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid ($29,395) w/ the following:
    • XLE Convenience ($1,265)
    • XLE Cold Weather pkg. ($925)
    $32,705 MSRP incl. the D&H charge ($1,120 ).

    2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE AWD Purchase price - $31,705 w/ a $1,000 disc. off retail.

    2012 Toyota Prius v - $9,000 TIV
KBB TIV for the 2012 Prius V 3 with 43,700 miles in Good Condition shows $8,967.

The add-ons from the Monroney looked like this:
    • All-weather passenger and cargo mats ($269)
    • Wheel locks ($65)
    • Mudguards ($129)
    • Door Edge Guards ($140)

    $22,705 (Vehicle Price) + $1,589.35 (State Tax) + $179.84 (DOC Fee) + $215 (TTL) = $24,688.53

While the deal was made on a yet to be found 2020 RAV4 XLE Hybrid with no add-ons while I was there, they found one from another IL dealer with some extras. I was on the phone with my mom and told her if they find one with any add-on “stuff”, state you will pay the $31,705 as agreed and they can eat any add-on costs or remove them. They ate the upcharge and my parents now have mats which we were going to buy aftermarket anyway.

    Hi All:

Los Angeles, CA -- The 2020 Toyota RAV4/RAV4 Hybrid was awarded the 2020 Hispanic Motor Press Awards (HMPA) Best Crossover.

The Hispanic Motor Press Foundation recognized the most significant automobiles in the market and class as they meet the needs of Hispanic families. The foundation’s advisory board selected an independent panel of jurors comprised of Hispanic automotive journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers to evaluate over 250 new model vehicles in the running for the awards.

A friend of mine, Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, President of the Hispanic Motor Press said the following:
The RAV4 was designed with the most desirable traits of a CUV: Interior comfort, agile handling, a smooth ride and excellent efficiency. New for 2020, all RAV4 models now include Android Auto along with Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility. The LE and XLE gas and Hybrid gained standard SiriusXM for the 2020 MY.

I am going to drive my friend's RAV4 Hybrid again and report on that.
Hopefully this Sunday. But...…… "agile handling" ? That's hilarious.

    Hi Edwin:

There is no such thing as an agile handling CUV imho but that is just me too. ;) When I got out of the RAV4 Hybrid and into the Camry Hybrid the following day, there was no comparison. My mom, my daughter-in-law, and wife like the higher upright seating position CUVs and the cargo volume more however.

Apparently the rest of the world thinks the same.
