Haynes may be a bit better than Chilton's (whose best use seems to be to catch drips underneath the car), but it's not exactly a great Civic manual. If you can afford it, I strongly suggest springing for the Helm manual. Much more and more detailed information. And they don't lump thee different models of car over seven years together, they actually cover your specific car. There are scans of the manuals around on the Net; a search might turn them up. -soD
I just need a specific wiring LAYOUT of VTEC-E ECU module. Hopefully I can find wire where it triggers next stage of VTEC. And wiring for speed indicator and FI for MPGuino like I did for my 1993 Toyota Camry.
Helm also makes an electrical manual for the Civic. A little poking around on their website should turn it up. -soD
This is depressing... my winter average is better than my current spring/summer average Working to recover from last short road trip, only to turn around for another one next week...
Filled up, first 60mpg or above tank for the year (62.92mpg, 791.4 miles, 12.578 gallons). Added a little breathing room between first and second, for now.
This is the last numbers from the truck as I am trading it in for a 2011 Honda Fit (5MT) tomorrow. The numbers on the tank have been calculated and the numbers are: 12.04 Gals 323.6 MIles 26.88 MPG Not a bad note to go out on from the Truck that is suppose to get 15 combined. This would have been a rocking summer if the numbers had been this good already. I would have had to set my sites on 27 MPG tanks and 600 mile tanks But with the Fit these numbers will be blown out of the water without trying.
I don't think bump-drafting is an officially recognized hypermiling technique. Congratulations Die2self, finally getting rid of the FSP!
I added a new fill. 857 miles 11.7 gallons 73.25 mpg Not my best ever, but still decent. Summer is here so my commute is no longer handicapped by the detour to elementary school.
Sold my '05 FEH, so I had to take off the '09's new tires and heavier Limited rims and put them back on the '09 FEH. Forgot to tell the tire changer not to test drive my FEH's after the change and he did some serious damage to my average also. Changing the tires and rims did exactly what I thought and my 65mpg tank continues to drop now. I could still end up with a 63mpg tank based on my present level of E10 left. It should still be a record tank for my '09 FEH. Found out also before I sold the '05 FEH, it had a bad CAT. With 79,978 miles, the 80,000 mile emissions warranty covered the entire system from the exhaust manifold to the tail pipe. This would have cost me at least $4,000 because Ford paid the dealer over $3,200. Just 22 miles left to go on the warranty so I'm a lucky man. BTW, the buyer paid $11,000 for my '05 FEH. GaryG
Whew! That is lucky the mileage worked out! Good thing it wasn't an '04 Honda - they had a slight overdrive on the odometer that ran out the warranty early.
Another fill. This one wasn't quite as good, and it has dropped me a few more percentage points. Looks like I'm pretty solidly in 4th place now. -soD
I'm starting to think I'm not going to finish my tank this period. I've been working from home enough I've still got 3/4 of the fuel gauge lit.
Dang Sean... is all I can say. I'm disappointed in my run this quarter. But a few things were out of my control I guess.
Thanks Sean. This car loves the heat and there were a few 90 degree days on that tank, no a/c use, of course.
