lmpg (Lifetime mpg) > your automobiles combined (1985 – 2007) EPA city/hwy estimates after a minimum of 5,000 miles. The Expert and Elite classes include those that have achieved and maintained an lmpg 25% and 50% greater then their respective automobiles EPA city/highway combined estimates beyond a minimum of 5,000 miles. ___For 2008 and later vehicles, you should use the new and less stringent 2008 EPA ratings. The Skilled, Expert and Elite classes will include those that have achieved and maintained an lmpg of 20%, 45% and 70% greater then their respective 2008 and later automobiles EPA city/highway combined estimates beyond the minimum of 5,000 miles. ___I hope everyone would include all of their own known tanks rather then just a few of there later ones to keep CleanMPG’s honorary list as truthful as possible. ___I will attempt to keep it up to date but if I missed anyone, PM me. ___Good Luck ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! How do you register your vehicles to get those blue box footers? I checked the FAQ and could not find it, also checked in the edit profile section. Thanks, Atul
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! When you add a car to the mileage database and then add a tank to that car an image is automaticaly generated for that vehicle. To get the url of the image just click on the vehicle name on the mileage logs page and select copy image location. Then you can paste it into into your signature surrounded by (img)(/img) tags (replace the () with []).
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! i don't fill up gas enough to be on that list but boy 5000 miles will sure take me awhile.
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi All: ___We added our first hypermiler not included in the original list of inductees. Let me personally congratulate Sledge along with his 06 HCH-II named Silver Speedster II for making every effort to break into the hypermiling ranks. Looking at his last 3 tanks definitely shows he is doing something right … 55.7, 53.06, and then an excellent last tank of 59.653 mpg’s pushed him over the top. Well done Sledge! ___Phil, you will get here soon enough ___Good Luck ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi All: ___Time to update the member’s progress as seen in the CleanMPG DBase. ___I saw Diamond Larry kick out his hypermiling goal soon after my last update so I want to add him first. Not only does he own an excellent for its day, Saturn SL-1 (EPA estimated (29/40)) named Diamondlarry’s vehicle, he has some interesting head mods to boot. A few more tanks and he will have Expert status locked up in fact! Keep up those great tanks and congratulations Larry for continuing to punch out the great tanks! ___I look forward to adding our next group of inductees in the not to distant future. Just remember to never give up and keep on working those iFCD’s, aFCD’s, and/or plain old gas gauge’s to the best of your ability ___Good Luck and congratulations Larry. ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Thanks Wayne. I didn't realize I had made it. For some reason I was thinking I had to have 5,000 miles to be listed as a hypermiler. I guess that is for the expert and elite categories. This tank I'm on right now is looking very good! Since I'm still calibrating the Scanguage2 I'm not real sure how I'm doing but it is reading right around 49 for the tank. The guage however, is reading around 20-25 miles behind my trip to Indy last month when I got 55+. The odometer is reading 127.? and the fuel guage is still reading above the full mark. It looks like it will take quite awhile until I'm ready for a fill-up and a definitive answer. Edit: Wow! I must be doing more driving than I thought. I had no idea I was over 10,000 miles.
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi Larry: ___You certainly do deserve the Hypermiler tag given 10K miles beyond EPA combined! From my reads, less then 2% of our nations populace reaches this level and with your upcoming Expert status (you will be there soon ), you are really and I mean really learning to push tanks. ___As for the ScanGauge II, Tom and I are still waiting for CleanMPG’s own for review. Ron told us maybe the second batch ___Good Luck and congratulations. ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! What's really ebarassing/maddening is that I've had the car for about 36,000 of it's 135,000+ miles. I computed every single tank but it wasn't until last fall that I was putting them into any kind of a database. That means my lmpg figure would probably be already OVER the expert level since I routinely got 42-44 the first summer I had the car. I also have a couple more tricks up my sleeve for approaching the elite level. Edit: Those tricks include an ozone generator that I'm beta testing and an upgrade to Bridgestone B381 LRR tires in the next week or two.
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi All: ___Another hypermiler since the last update … ___Please welcome and congratulate Zadsmc along with his HCH-I named Racing Rat Trap. 120 + % of the EPA combined in an HCH-I is not an easy thing to do and especially at the steady state 60 + mph speeds he is traveling at! ___Excellent job in providing the “Can’t beat the EPA” naysayer’s with a target to shoot for! ___Good Luck ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi All: ___I missed one … And congrats go to Psyshack in his 2006 Civic EX! ___Psy, you have to spend a little less time playing around with those VTEC cam lobe’s ___Good Luck ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi All: ___Time for an update! ___Let us first start out by congratulating an old time Hypermiler of sorts to the CleanMPG list of inductees. Not only has he helped train hundreds of drivers before him, he is a great guy all around as well. With that, please welcome and congratulate Hot Georgia and his HCH-I named Hot Georgia’s vehicle. Not only is he an Expert qualified driver, I can tell he is so close to knocking out a personal best - 1,000 mile tank, he can smell it! ___Next I want to congratulate PCK and his HCH-II named PCK’s HCH appropriately. His last few tanks had a nice jump and if can hold that kind of performance over the next few months, who knows what is possible once he really decides to push it ___And then our own CleanMPG Logo designer, Sledge in his HCH-II named Silver Speedster II. Not only does he have a quick wit and creative mind, he can drive with the best of them! ___A relatively new member busted into the hypermiler ranks with practical ease over his past 2 tanks. Please welcome and congratulate Birchman2 and his HCH-2 named My First Honda. He had the normal slow start like most first time hybrid drivers but steadily picked it up to numbers some will only dream of! Way to go Birchman2! I will have Tom look at his sig as it has a small issue at this point in time. ___And then a non-hybrid driver who has really picked it up over the last few months with a personal best 47 mpg tank on his last fill in fact. Please welcome and congratulate Lindermant and his 05 Honda Civic w/ Auto named Lindermant’s Vehicle. Not only was that last tank super hot, he breached Expert status all the while achieving that goal with a std. Automatic transmission! That makes it even more endearing in my book. ___Next we have an FEH driver. Let us congratulate Green FEH in his FWD FEH named Green FEH. Another with a great start, steady climb and then a breakout to a personal best last fill. I love to see this kind of increase as there was a lot of learning, practicing, and battling involved to get to this level. Way to go Green FEH! ___Our final Hypermiler to be congratulated today goes by the nick UH2L driving a SAAB 900S named UH2L’s Vehicle 1. Although some might not appreciate the total stats, he is doing a decent job with the vehicle he owns. UH2L, we need to see some breakout of those tanks to see where you have come from and where you are headed too. ___With that, thank you all for continuing to push, learning how to improve, and battling for every ounce given what you have already built. Where have I been these last 2 weeks anyway? ___Good Luck and congratulations to you all! ___Wayne
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Thank you Wayne for the kind words, and a big round of applaud to everyone on the list! Lindermant has 47MPG with his Civic Auto? That's Fantastic! I know of many hybrid owners who would love to have that. Keep it up -Steve
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! I feel like going out for a 2000 mile drive just so I can qualify for this list. Congrats to all!
Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s! Hi Dan: ___I am wondering if you will blow though "Elite" by the time you pass 5,000 miles ___Don’t forget to upload that news item too … ___Good Luck ___Wayne
