    Re: Congratulations CleanMPG Hypermiler’s!

    Hi All:

___Time for an update and what an interesting update it is! Not only is it spring and everyone’s numbers should be picking up (sorry for our southern members who just about to be blasted with summertime heat and needing A/C :() but this update includes 5 non-hybrids and 2 hybrids. With that, let’s get started.

___Our first addition is someone who I am not personally familiar with but owning an Insight makes him a special type of driver in his own right. Please welcome and congratulate SFW and his 2000 Honda Insight named Foo. Since he has simply entered total miles and total gallons consumed, I cannot make a comment on his segments but let’s hope he continues to push his own “Little beauty” to numbers that will make us all proud.

___Our next hypermiler is someone who is not only climbing fast but participates almost daily in the “Daily Grind” thread(s). Please congratulate JimboK and his 2005 Prius II named Jim’s Prius. Currently he is punching out segments anyone with a Prius II would be glad to have under their own Mileage Logs. If you follow the link, look at his breakout this spring as warm temps have finally arrived. To say this guy has talent would be an understatement ;)

___Then we have our non-hybrids. Our first is Raguru and his 1996 Honda Civic LX named Raguru’s Vehicle. Although he had a rough winter, it appears as if spring is helping him post 40 + mpg tanks again. Congratulations Raguru and I look forward to future tanks like that last one at > 43 mpg :)

___Our second Yaris appears on the list this month. Please welcome and congratulate Ah yum and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Ah yum’s Yaris. I hope everyone has a chance to look over his tank data because he is far from peaking. In fact, he has been climbing like a rocket almost from day one at just 27.x to his last and personal best at 43.4 mpg. I have a feeling there will be a 50 + mpg tank coming from this young man in the not to distant future if he keeps continuously improving like he is now! I wonder what his lmpg would have looked today if he would have known back when he first drive it off the lot vs. what he knows today :D

___Our next recognized hypermiler is one I would have never expected. Please welcome and congratulate Akxb and his Toyota Scion XB named appropriately, Icebox. Not only does he reside in Alaska and drives in temps that would make a polar bear shiver, he is driving a vehicle that has to be almost as un-aerodynamic as a P/U truck! Take a look at his second to last tank as that should give you an idea as to his commitment and what we can expect in the future. Way to go Akxb and I cannot wait to add you to the Expert list on the next update!

___And then one of my favorite automobiles driven by a new driver. Please welcome and congratulate Fredness and his 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 named Fredness ZX3. Spring temps are definitely helping him along but more importantly, his last tank was a breakout and all time best. I wonder if this has anything to do with the “CleanMPG effect” ;) I don’t think he will find those older achievements acceptable given what he knows today and I cannot wait to see what he does next!

___Our final inductee drives a Toyota P/U truck and you don’t just drive one to achieve hypermiling recognition in my experience. Please welcome and congratulate Worthywads and his 2005 Toyota Tacoma named Worthywads Vehicle. With the earlier launch through his own personal EPA and an even steeper upward slope then last year, let us all wish him luck on blowing out his personal bests from years gone by.

___I want to personally thank all of our inductees for not only pushing the envelope but conserving resources and lowering emissions for all our sakes.

___I would also request feedback wrt removing some of our previous inductees for lack of tank updates. My Ranger for one has been running on the same tank of fuel since last Sept. with no updates since that time and my Insight is retired. For those not in the retired category let me know if you are still sitting on the same tank throughout the winter months and I will leave your vehicle in the list as is. For those outside of a 4 month fill up and tank upload, I will place you in a non-update status in my own documents with a quick reintroduction as soon as the your latest tanks have been uploaded.

___Finally, not only do I want to personally congratulate our new inductees, I want to thank them for pushing tanks and making all of us here at CleanMPG proud!

    ___Good Luck

    ___Wayne

Hey, Wayne, thanks as always for the words of encouragement.

    Hi All:

___It has been three months since the last update and there has been a ton of excellent additions as well as a somewhat sad to say subtractions due to a lull of 3 months or more since their last tanks were entered :( Either way, there are some great drivers showing up so let us get down to business …

___In the Hybrid camp, let us start with the sole 2001 Honda Insight belonging to BlueBulletIP’s and named BlueBullet-1. Typical profile with a nice leap around March as well as holding above last years best with ease. Nice Job BlueBulletIP!

___And then the Prius’ and there are a bunch! We have Mparrish and his 2007 Toyota Prius-II named Marc’s Prius, Madman and his 2007 Toyota Prius-II named Bad egg, Alexstarfire and his 2002 Prius-I named Alexstarfire’s vehicle, Skwyre7 and his 2005 Prius-II named Prius (Hypermiled), Dan and his 2007 Prius-II named Dan’s Prius and Abowles 2005 Prius-II named Abowles 10072005.

Marc, those are some wicked highs as of late :D
    [IMG]

Madman, did the CleanMPG effect take hold or what :)

Alex, those are absolutely killer tanks from an 01!

Skwyre, nice climb out of last winter indeed ;)

Dan, I see the EPA combined is your absolute floor now.

Abowles, great last tank and I cannot wait to see more of those as time moves on.

___HCH-II’s anyone? We have Rocketman and his 2007 HCH-II named Rocketman’s Vehicle as well as Sparty Brutus and his 2007 HCH-II named Sparty Brutus’ vehicle.

Rocketman, it looks like Hypermiling is becoming second nature to you!

Sparty Brutus, you must have been peeking at Tarabell’s article as well :D
    [IMG]

___And then the non-hybrids and there are a ton. To begin, we have BailOut and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Pregnant Rollerskate. Not only is he the current Ride of the Month as of this update, he hit Expert Status while climbing and falling out of the Sierra Nevada’s each and everyday he goes to work! Next we have Op59No1’s 2004 Honds Civic manual named Op59No1’s vehicle, CoasterToasterxB’s 2006 Scion xB named The Shadow, Cnicolis’s 2006 Honda Civic w/ Auto named Cnicolis’ vehicle, Antrey’s 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 Manual named Antrey’s ZX3, Gflippin’s 99 Mazda Miata manual named Greg’s Miata, Right Lane Crusier’s 2002 Hyundai Elantra named Lantrific, Mr. Bill’s 2006 Honda Civic Si manual named Mr. Bill’s Civic Si, BrucePick’s 1989 Volvo 240 Wagon named Sven, Ready4Sea’s 2003 Subaru Outback manual named Ready4Sea’s vehicle, Rleech’s 2004 Honda Accord V6 Auto named Black Accord V6, Amann1’s 2000 Ford Ranger Auto named 2000 Ranger and Flyer351’s 2006 Ford Mustang manual named Flyer351’s vehicle.

Brian, where did you learn to drive that Yaris ;)

Op59No1, some broken time frames but hopefully your tanks will hold throughout the summer. Nice job!

Coaster, Oh yeah, shot out of a cannon is a great description for your most recent tanks. And Expert status on top of it all

Cnicolis, it appears as if you are running the std. Summer/Winter cycles. Let us hope this coming winter is better then last?

Antrey, I take it you must like your new-used ZX3 :D
    [IMG]

Gflippin, you are in a struggle with Expert status and I hope you can hold on. Don’t ever give up …
    [IMG]

Sean, when I saw you punched out a 64 mpg segment a week and a half ago; I knew you had just graduated to the elite level. Keep pushing and I bet we will see a lot more of those ;)

Mr. Bill, did you discover CleanMPG about April 15th of this year or what :)

BrucePick, I know you have been battling that Volvo but looking at where you were to where you are headed, it looks pretty darn impressive to me!

Ready4Sea, please add tanks as they come given I have no history to comment on :(
    [IMG]

Rleech, I would like to see that V6 break out one of these days. Keep working her and someday she will …
    [IMG]

Amann1, I see a personal best last tank with a continuing climb. 29 is probably just around the corner!

Flyer351, I loved that last tanks comment “Pulled every trick in the book”. And it showed :D
    [IMG]

___Our final addition is a diesel driver named Khale driving his 2004 VW TDI Wagon manual named 2004 TDI Wagon.

Khale, I cannot wait to see future tanks from you as we only have one other TDI driver currently.

___Good Luck and congratulations to you all.

Hi Wayne, thanks for the kudos. This is the first time I've seen this thread and glad I could make the list of skilled hypermilers. I've always had good luck getting hi FE from all my vehicles but without all the information here on this site it would have taken me much longer to figure out the best way to pilot my new prius to the numbers you see. I did start out with "good" numbers, but after a couple of tankfulls and the things about the car that I picked up here they jumped up a bunch. ( A big thanks to hobbit for the technical goodies) Now if I can just figure out a way to get over this very big long hill just before my house I can pull another 5 to 10 mpg out of every tank. It just kills my average every time I go over it.

    Hi All:

___A long overdue update! First, let me say researching individual members tank totals in the CleanMPG Mileage Database is a satisfying job knowing how much work is involved to record, input and especially push tanks to numbers most will never achieve. Seeing the hundreds of graphs showing improvements throughout most of last summer means members are doing their all to make sure nothing is wasted and nobody can ask much more than that. To the membership as a whole, I personally thank you for your efforts!

___Time to get down to business. In the hybrid owners category, we have a slew of members honing their skills.

___Please congratulate Diamond Larry and his 2007 Toyota Prius-II named La Forge. Larry has pushed his Prius-II about as hard as I have ever seen and the results speak for themselves. Great job in taking your Prius-II to CleanMPG’s Expert Status category. In fact, you are the first Prius-II to reach it in CleanMPG’s short history!

___Next we have 2 Insight drivers. Please welcome and congratulate both Wayneetc and his 2000 Honda Insight named Key Lime Pi as well as InsightGary in his 2000 Honda Insight named Little Red. Even though the Insight is possibly the most fuel efficient vehicle ever mass-produced, taking one to beyond EPA combined is no easy task and both of you have proven to be excellent drivers in my book.

___Our next 2 drivers are Prius-II pilots who have come out of nowhere. Please welcome and congratulate both Zenox and his 2006 Toyota Prius-II named Peedy as well as Dan Bryant and his 2006 Toyota Prius-II named Dan’s Prius. Again, anyone that can hold > a 60 lmpg in a Prius is really pushing and that brings a nice smile to my face! Peedy, I cannot believe it but you are still climbing! Dan, have you rechecked the log for that coming back from HF2007 tank?

___How about 7 HCH-II pilots! Please welcome and/or congratulate Trox355 and his 2007 HCH-II named Phoenix Transport, Soybean and his 2007 HCH-II named Serenity, Papamile and his 2007 HCH-II named Ozone, Ml2007hch2 and his 2007 HCH-II named Ml2007hch2’s Vehicle, Ifs and his 2007 HCH-II named 07 Silver HCH II, Okie Mom and her 2007 HCH-II named Okie Mom’s Vehicle, HCHCIN and his 2007 HCH-II named HCHCIN’s HCHII and finally Msantos and his 2007 HCH-II named M Hybrid.

___With winter showing its fangs across the Continent (Msantos, living in the Great White North has got to be an absolute FE killer this time of year), I can hope all of you can hold on waiting for better conditions next spring and summer.

___Next we have our first MMH. Please welcome and congratulate Gary C and his 2008 AWD MMH named Gary C’s Vehicle. Gary, can you fix your first two tank uploads date of entry as it looks funny that you are achieving FE on a date that has yet to arrive?

___And something we have not seen in quite some time. How about 2 HiHy’s? Please welcome and/or congratulate Lottie and his 2007 HiHy named Lottie as well as Mr. Kite and his 2007 HiHy named Kreep. Lottie, you had a rough start but it looks like you have it down now. Mr. Kite, that 41 mpg tank a few months ago was kick @$$!

___To wrap up the Hybrid’s, please congratulate Firenurse and his 2007 Saturn VUE Hybrid named Red Greenline. Not only is he the first GM hybrid vehicle to be added to the CleanMPG hypermiling list, he takes a ton of ribbing from the community because of BAS. Either way, he keeps proving all of us wrong about GM tank after tank after tank. Keep up the great work and I would love to see what you could do in the upcoming PHEV VUE w/ 2-Mode!

___Now the non-hybrids and there are a ton! Please welcome and congratulate a slew of new non-hybrid owning members that have not only learned what is needed but do what is needed every time they turn the key.

___First we have Robert Lastick and his 2000 Saturn SL named Robert Lastick’s Vehicle. Here is a guy that takes saving fuel seriously and achieved Elite status right out of the gate. Nice job Bob!

___To move through the rest of the non-hybrid owners quickly, here is the list in numerical FE achievement order … We have Palemelanesian and his 1996 Honda Civic named Pale Civic. Andrew, I hope you are giving clinics as many can learn a thing or two from you!

Zerofloat and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Yaris. Do you have BailOut in your sights? Nice job on becoming an expert too!

Pstep001 and his 2006 Toyota Corolla named Pstep001’s Vehicle. Great job with the Expert status and its nice to see a Corolla taking no prisoners!

Gandalf and his 2006 Nissan Versa named Silver Tortoise. Gandalf, nice job with the Versa. We have so few here so let us know all about it.

Kcty and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Ty. Nice comeback from that late June tank!

Voodoo22 and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Beege

MnFocus and his 2004 Ford Focus ZX3 named MNFocus’s ZX3. MnFocus, I see winter has started to hit you hard. Like falling off a cliff.

AustinYaris and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named Yarismobile

ATL and his 2007 Toyota Yaris named ATL’s Vehicle

Walter and his 2007 Honda Fit named Black is the Color

Psyshack and his 2007 Mazda 3 named Papa Evil’s Dream. Psy, that is quite an accomplishment knowing your bent for a little speed every once in a while.

b-man and his 2006 Honda Civic named The Silver Suppository

Daox and his 1997 Toyota Paseo named Daox’s Paseo

Psic and his 1996 Toyota Carina named Psic’s Red Toyota. Psic, can we get some more info about the Carina? Is it similar to the 96 Corolla here in the US?

Gplcoder, we have not seen a MB in quite some time!

___Now for some housekeeping. For new members, please enter in your years sticker fuel economy, not the new 08 based FE as listed at Fuel Economy.gov as it takes me literally tens of hours to sort through and find the outliers as I create each update. I am attempting to keep the Dbase as clean and as factual as possible so please help me do the same.

___With that, can the following membership check your vehicles ratings and once fixed or verified, I can insert your vehicle back into the list.

Southerncannuck’s 2007 Honda Fit named Southerncannuck’s Vehicle FLAGGED!
CoasterToasterxB’s 2006 Scion xB named The Shadow FLAGGED!
    Iamlouie’s 2007 Mazda 3 named iamlouie’s Vehicle FLAGGED!
Jcp123’s 2004 Ford Focus named Jcp123’s Vehicle FLAGGED!
    DimCorner’s 2006 Mazda3 named Dimcorner’s Mazda FLAGGED!
    Scismic’s 2007 Mazda3 Speed named Scismic’s Mazda3speed3’ Vehicle FLAGGED!
    Benffv’s Ranger named Rangerrex FLAGGED!

___I reordered the list in numerical fashion where appropriate, added the Expert and Elite drivers and their sigs, removed those that have not added tanks over the last 3 months or lost their hypermiler status. All of which is standard for an update. Please upload your most recent tanks when and wherever possible.

___I posted so may images in this post I had to cut out the emoticons so take my commentary with a grain of salt ;)

___Good Luck, congratulations and thank you from all of us here at CleanMPG!

    Hi Jerad:

___You are on the big list on the first page. I had so many to add this time that I was keeping track with three different color fonts when updating the List on the first page and adding those to be recognized in the post above. Were you include in a previous update?

___If not, here you go :D

___Please congratulate Jerad (Locutus) and his Prius-II named Stargazer. Given what he has achieved last winter, spring, summer and fall, I can guarantee his lmpg will never fall below 55 … ever ;)
