Thanks for starting our thread , Gord.
Today in the Prius. 54 deg F in Naperville , 52 in Elk Grove.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 65.9 x .943 = 62.1 MPG.

Changed the oil in the Civic Saturday without incident , although I
haven't personally done an oil change for seven years.
I think I will drive it tomorrow.

Filled up Prius yesterday. $3.289 for 87 E10.

Today I am in the Civic. 52 deg F in Naperville , 53 in Elk Grove.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 46.0 x 1.021 = 47.0 MPG.

I found a new toy that I can play with after I sell this car.
It requires no insurance or $151.00 a year to the state.
It does demand , however , skill and courage.

Bike?? Be careful, people don't see them. Get all the protective gear you can and wear it, it may just save your life.

Maybe a moped like vehicle? I can't see Edwin biking 3 hours a day to get to work and back. I initially thought recumbent bike for the speed, but this is Chicago we're talking about so that would be suicidal.

I think it's a new "mustang stallion". One horsepower, and what the picture suggests is a rather bumpy ride.
Caution - Do NOT use Beef-a-reeno for fuel. I learned that by watching an old Seinfeld episode.

Yee ha ! Actually , I'm thinking of an electric unicycle , top speed of 35 or 45 MPH.
Depending on which model and how brave/stupid I am feeling.

I'd love a motorcycle , except for the insurance thing and $151.00 per year.

There isn't a lot of traffic between 4:10 and 4:50 AM in the northern suburbs.

That helps. Average speed is about 27-28 MPH.

I’ve done a 62.4 mile bike ride Wednesday and a 41.6 mile ride this morning - no electrical assistance :p
Not driven my car for days - still on vacation :D

If you had a way to store that energy from biking, you could provide a portion of your daily household electrical needs. :) It wouldn't be as fun on a stationary bike generator, though, I suppose...

My hat's off to you biker folk who can stay in the bicycle seat for such long rides.

That energy can't be stored if it's being expended overcoming unavoidable drag forces.

You get to come out of the saddle much of the time if your long rides are among steep hills---which is good for some body components, not so much for others.

Thanks, guys - I haven't done so much cycling of late due to injury but great to be reasonably fit again (nothing like last year!).
