Wow! 2 tanks in a row with record breaking efficiency. 398 miles and 7.761 gallons for ~51 mpg!! FE challenge tank is up to 177% . . . though the florida heat is . . . uh . . . hot, without A/C. Good mpg requires a sweaty me.
I'll have one more tank to add this round. I had record run TO work this morning, 42.3 MPG. Rah! Gotta get some more ecomodding done....
Very nice. I think I may have another 50+ tank coming right before the deadline hits. I guess once you get a record tank they just keep coming . . . ?
Sadly not I think my current tank is around my spring challenge average... caused by several hours of stop & go traffic and a 172 km (107 mi) trip on hilly country roads during which my average speed was around 85km/h (53 mph) while my average speed is around 70 km/h (44 mph). As tomorrow my car will have a big maintenance (oil, oil filter, cabin & engine air filters, gasoil filter...) and I have no chance to beat any personal record with this current tank, I think I'll fill-up tomorrow evening to "cleanly" start the summer challenge Denis.
Just a reminder to everyone: this round is ending soon. Get your fills in for the final standings. I will have the next one up and going shortly.
I thought I would lurk in on the challenge. Hate to tell you Matt, but you wouldn't stand a chance against me right now. I am pulling 46-48 in the Esteem, but I am not the only one driving. (That's about 180+%).
Yikes! Yeah, I had higher hopes for the challenge, seeing that I seldom ever drive. But, I didn't take into account the fact that when I do drive, it's on VERY hot afternoons in Florida in the summer weather (feels like is typically over 105). Also, since I take the bus everywhere now, I only drive at a rate of about 6 or 7000 miles a year. I am proud of the cut back in driving, but not proud of the not so good numbers I have been putting up. I don't know how I drove without the air last year! With numbers like yours, you should enter the nest one! I am not so sure about me entering though, as I use a tank of gas about every two months... Matt
Well with the fiancee driving I am getting about 38 on a tank. Once I get the Accord running again we will have that rematch.
Confirmed : 709.1 mi @ 61.81 mpg, challenge average going from 197% to 198%... Megane had a big maintenance today : cabin, air, oil & gasoil filters, and oil (5w30) At the opposite of temperatures until last week (20°C = 68°F) I hope the current temps (30 °C = 86 °F) will help Denis.
I had one final fill on the 29th. 577.8 miles on 14.069 gallons. Enough to bump me up a little bit, and barely take 3rd in Div B. Kinda scary with the lowest MPG in Div B too. And my lifetime bumped over 35 now.
Last tank in this morning: 765 miles 8.769 gal. 87.24 MPG I was a bit disappointed in the tank given the near perfect conditions. But, I made a trip up to suburban Maryland on Memorial day and the traffic just killed me. Frequently waited 2-3 turns at some lights. Less that trip, I think I would have been in the 95 mpg range. Oh well, gotta make the trips when the demand is there.
You are right, it is time to move. I'm gonna take some time to reach the FE of the folks in div. A, since I don't P&G
You are beating my MPG and gonna beat my POE very soon, so you shouldn't be ashamed. I don't P&G anymore as I don't have a real time FCD and people doesn't accept others with continuously changing speed, while people with slow speed are much more accepted. I mainly DWL and use NICE-ON coasting on downhills and slowdowns, helped by my low CdA (relatively to average car, not an insight I). I FAS during first (last) miles of my morning (evening) commute. Denis.
