    Happy Monday, all!

All I'm going to say about this morning's commute is, "Too bad the roads are wet." ;)

Oh... If anyone is wondering, I still like my new tires. :D

We are having a veritable heat wave at 30F, no wind, and scattered clouds:

    1. 55.9mpg for 22.5mi (Home to work -- PR!!!)
The tank is now at 54.6mpg over 61.4mi with 14.9g left.

67 MPG from fiancee's to work, 44F. Would have been better if not for a car popping into my rear view about halfway through a normally good and unmolested long glide.

Definitely a Monday - 78.9mpg at 65F...what I get for starting late.

    woot, way to go sean!

I tried out some p&g this morning going to work. Managed 73.7 mpg even though I lost major momentum from getting behind a school bus. More practice is definitely needed.

25 degrees, i left early, too. had a semi come up on my butt on the 4 miles of really bad road between our town and my turnoff. i was going 50 because it was still dark, and this road is a narrow two lane totally falling apart piece of crap. i felt the push from him, but then he actually backed off. there was only a mile or less to the edge of town where the speed limit drops. made up for the guy who passed on the double yellow line on a curve a little later, even though had he waited less than 10 second, we would have been out of the no passing zone. i am in a "i don't like people" mood today.

    69.2 into the lot

Temps back up in the 60s and a HUGE jump in FE...

    96.7mpg - 16.0mi - new home-work PR! :)

I had to mix in a bit of low speed P&G on the highway due to congestion... I fricken love it, mpg keeps climbing the whole ride in! I think it would have been 100+, but I had to suddenly brake from 50-stop coming around a ramp, couldn't see traffic stopped ahead. :(

Rain/fog and temperatures in the 40s (40s in wisconsin, in january!) had their effect on the numbers. ;)

    Yesterday:
    76.1 / 4.5 miles / 45F / fog
    50.4 / 1.8 miles / 48F / fog
    74.3 / 5.2 miles / 48F / fog
    59.4 / 5.3 miles / 48F / fog

    66.5 / 16.8 miles for yesterday.

    Today:
    76.9 / 8.0 miles / 39F / light rain & fog.

    The tank's at 64.3 / 111 miles.

Conditions on Mount Rose were pretty craptastic this morning. Lots of accidents, a few vehicles that lost all forward progress and were sliding back downhill, Washoe County Sheriff's Deputies doing a off-road rescue, etc.

As I dropped into Incline Village and was coming down Village Boulevard I saw something unique:

Yes, that's a kid on a snowboard in the middle of the street. He was on his way to Incline Elementary School and I clocked him at 16 MPH. I had only been doing 20, and everybody else was doing 15, so he was good to go. He even used hand signals to indicate his turn onto Northwood Boulevard. :)

    Re: Week of January 7th - January 13th, 2008

Indiana seems to have moved it's calendar up to April today. I started out this morning at 58F and it is 63F now. Winds were 5-15 mph from the SW so I had tailwinds on segments 2 & 4.:)
    1. 69.2-5.8(home to wife's work)
    2. 71.4-9.6(wife's work to my work)
    3. 77.7-9.6(my work to wife's work)
    4. 84.1-6.3(wife's work to home)
    Average for today was 75.1.

    29.0 into work.

low 20's, overcast, icy, slushy, crappy.

Considering conditions, I'm happy with outcome.

Great shot, Brian. :) With respect, I'm glad it's 82F and sunny in FL. :p

Just filled up today, 510 miles on 12.7 gallons is good for 40.2 MPG. The last two weeks have been unseasonably cool (overnight temperatures in the 20s-30s F, daytime highs of 50s), and the Mazda3 has shown it's weakness for the falling mercury. I'll be hitting my MPG-game hard for this next tank to rescue my average. Hope all is well!

Thanks, Blake and Andrew! Laurie left me in the dust, though.

I had a pretty decent trip home -- it would have been better but of course Anoka had to extract its toll.

    37F, no wind, overcast:

    1. 55.7mpg for 22.2mi (Work to home :D)
SG now reports 54.8mpg over 83.7mi with 14.5g left.

Well I only hope that when I make the trip up to MI this coming weekend, dealing with the cold weather up there won't throw me for a loop. If I can do half as well as most of you all are doing in MUCH colder climates than I'm seeing, I'll be happy.

Well, no snow boarders on our roads today.;)

Just about the opposite. For some reason, The Who's song "I Can Glide For Miles And Miles" has been running around in my head all day! 72 mpg on the way in today.:woot:

    Thanks,

    Bob

    <sigh>

Despite several good segments the last few days, I couldn't save a brutal tank in the 6. Started out with trips to and from the airport, and worst of all I let my wife drive it one way... Spent the rest of the tank trying to make up for it, which was hard cause it was pretty cold until recently. So... worst tank and now my total average has dipped under 40 mpg. :(

Good news is, it can't get much worse, at least I hope not.

The snow is off the roads again, so I'm back in the Ranger. On the way in: wind assisted 40.3 mpg over 25.2 mi; on the way home: wind hindered 38.7 over 25.4 mi.
