Well.......We recently got snow. It was incredibly light & fluffy, & I decided to clear some snow in our front yard. While shoveling, I even cleared some neighbors' walks, too. My back didn't go out, & I was feeling good. The next day I felt good. The day after that, my right arm hung like a limp rag. Took some topical pain relief & after hours, it seemed to help. The next day, my left arm hung like a rag. Took some topical pain relief & after hours, it seemed to help. The next day, both arms hung like limp rags. Put on some topical pain relief, & after hours, it seemed to help. Man, that was wild. I seem OK now. Hey, my back didn't go out. Surprise, surprise.
Here's an interesting Washington state Dept. of Transportation webpage comparing Snoqualmie Pass yearly inches of snow AND I-90 freeway east bound & west bound closures due to accidents or snowslides. Recent shorter time period comparisons are also shown: https://www.wsdot.com/winter/snoqualmie-snowfall.htm From the webpage: During the 2015-16 snow season, close to 400 inches Snoqualmie snow fell. There were just short of 100 hours of pass closures, both directions (more due to collisions than avalanches). During the 2017-2018 season, about 450 inches of snow fell. However, only about 35 to 50 hours of closures occurred, with almost no closures due to avalanches.
