Today , wet roads but not raining , 72 deg F (70/74) , wind SSE7. 35.0 miles , 68.26 MPG. Tank is at 100.2 miles , 68.45 MPG. ODO = 50,023 miles. Bringing the car in for its 5th oil change today after work. Yes , I did say I was going to do it myself. No , I'm not really prepared to do so at the moment. We'll let Toyota of Naperville do it ( again). Expensive, yes , but I trust them to do it right. AND , they're right across the street (practically) from an excellent brewery , Solemn Oath. Who thinks I'll be drinking free coffee in Toyota's big comfy waiting room ?

Last night we had a nice Eeyore thunderstorm. It was pouring, wipers on high, but there was blue sky visible in all directions past the cloud.
    43.1 mpg / 5.2 mi

This morning, 78F and humid and clear
    70.4 mpg / 5.2 mi

49.5 mpg - 9.1 miles to work and back. I found a alternate route home a while back to avoid road construction on the roundabout their finishing. It is longer but has fewer stops and has helped my commute mileage. They started construction on it as well this week and created more even more congestion. :(

Nothing to brag about today. 6.8mpg, started out as nice Midwest flatlands, then duked it out over Appalachia through West Virginia into Virginia at 76,500lb gross. Down a 7% grade is easy enough, going back up was an agonizing ~20mph on an interstate.

Saw the absolute, most egregious idiocy on an interstate today I have ever seen. Guy literally pulls out from the right shoulder behind a stranded car, fails a u-turn trying apparently to line up for a jump start, and ends up with the bed of his pickup in my lane. I ended up a few feet from him. Even more lucky, it didn't cause a pileup. As I'm processing what the hell just happened, his stranded mistress literally opens my door to thank me. I didn't have the presence of mind to say anything other than let me move. Without a doubt, someone could have died.

Not really my "therapist". She's just a friend who will listen and advise. And "The Big Sick" promises to be a great movie. Mini-review tomorrow AM.

Haven't been posting numbers this week. Has been fairly hectic. Filled up for pretty cheap. Last week someone couldn't find their store card and they used mine, got 20 cents off on fuel :D

    Fill-up

    Miles: 542.3
    EV Miles: 335.6
    EV Mode: 61.9%
    Indicated MPG: 51.1
    Gallons Indicated: 10.59
    Gallons Actual: 10.860
    Offset: 2.5 %

    49.93 MPG

Trip computer was almost exact. I used the double-click method to get to that second number. Otherwise it was just right.

Had occasion to do a little highway run today. 11 km of around town, 4 l/100 and 13 km of highway, 4 l/100 with headwind. Return 13 km with the wind was 3.1 l/100. Couple more stops in town ended the day at 3.82 l/100, 41.9 km. (61.3 - 25.9 mi)

Tank is up to 56.1 mpg, 78 miles in.

Today , 58 deg F , wind NW3. 35.0 miles , 65.29 MPG. Tank is at 347.6 miles , 69.66 MPG. Yesterday's trip home may have been the best ever. Scenic tour(no highway) , 33.8 miles , 80.26 MPG. Left that trip open when I went to pick up my therapist, drove another 34.9 miles to finish that trip at 68.7 miles , 75.89 MPG. And I highly recommend "The Big Sick". Holly Hunter and Ray Romano are both fantastic , even though they are both in supporting roles. I don't really like to give too many details , I'm just saying SEE IT.
