Not judging, .. but just so you know. THAT post will not win you the "cleanmpg trooper of the week" award.....

I'd take some of that "dry heat". Today there was six degrees separating Aurora (where I live) and Elk Grove Village ( where I work ) . Not six degrees of separation , not six degrees of longitude, but six degrees Fahrenheit. Haven't seen that kind of spread EVER. 65/71 = 68 deg F , wind W10. Again/still , perfect conditions for a morning highway commute. Just started to rain as I got out of the car at work. 35.2 miles , 70.59 MPG. Tank is at 655.0 miles , 71.24 MPG. One pip remaining , not flashing. This could be an easy 700 mile tank , if I'm not really fussy about where I fill up.

Motorway route again last night, slow queue to get there, 2UP, 69°F, 11mph tailwind W:

    46.0 / 22.4

    This morning, 2UP, cooler 54°F, 7mph head/crosswind WSW:

    50.1 / 22.5

    Tank up 0.4 at 46.3 (FCD 48.8) / 260.9 / Range 390 . Guess gauge F__««|««««E . UG up 0.4 at 46.0 / DTE361

Finally let go of 2nd pip @ 237 - 20 more miles than last 3 tanks and best since last October :D

True. On the other hand, this thing is my home for weeks at a time. If they had spec'd the battery-operated AC on this, we'd all be saving a lot.

Medium load with tailwinds today, so 8.2mpg. For some reason, I'm being paid to drag an empty trailer 500 miles to near Brownsville now...so good driving FE for the next two days.

Today , 71.5 deg F , wind W8. Steady to heavy rain for the last six miles or so. 35.0 miles , 64.91 MPG. Tank is at 724.0 miles , 71.24 MPG. Last pip started flashing at 681.1 miles. This is probably a record distance tank already , but it's not done yet ! I intend to buy gas near my friend's house in Hanover Park later today , about 13 miles from here. My records are incomplete and/or scattered , but this could be a personal record tank for both distance and MPG. And the whole summer's still ahead of us !

74.1 indicated mpg (~70.1 actual), probably my record, going round trip today to a smaller town to a bike ride. Could've been a bit better if the county road people didn't insist on interrupting nice back-road downhills with superfluous stop signs.

Down near another part of the border between McAllen and Brownsville, TX. Right at 100*. It's been a head-/crosswind the whole 500 miles so despite being empty, the best mileage I have seen was mid-9s, gross weight around 32,500lbs.

Friday lunchtime, motorway route, 68°F, 2mph headwind ENE:

    47.8 / 22.2

Went for a pub lunch and get some chalk paint, 2UP, 68°F, 9mph tailwind going:

Due to essential maintenance on the trains, had to pick up middle daughter from school she's training at again, lots of traffic going, 77°F, 7mph crosswind:

    46.2 / 20.0
    48.5 / 21.0

Saturday did a hot 43.6 mile bike ride in the afternoon (2:36), hot 81°F.

Sunday afternoon went 4UP to mum's house for tea, very hot (for the UK!) - A/C on all way there (by demand from passengers!) and 4mph headwind, windows down on way back, 84°F:

aturday , I filled up at a different Shell than usual. The pump I used seemed to flow at about the same rate as the one I normally use , about 6-7 sec/gallon. Definitely a PR for distance ar 732.0 miles. Divide that by 10.096 gallons to get an actual 72.5 MPG. Fcd was at 76.4 , and if we multiply that by 0.93 , we get 71.05 MPG. Somewhere in between those two numbers lies the truth. Coming home from my buddy's house early Sunday AM was a good trip :25.6 miles , 77.9. Saturday I rode the Giant 27.5 on the trails for 23 miles. Sunday I took the Trek to Metal Monkey (again) for a 31 mile round trip. It's easier to ride the Trek with those skinny hard tires, lol. At least they are , compared to the Giant.
