I have experienced hitting the accelerator pedal instead of the brakes when I was driving my sister's Ford Fiesta from then on I became conscious when driving AT. Generally, Filipinos from Manila are fluent in English since the medium of instruction in school is in English. Folks from the south (Visayas & Mindanao) have strong accent but still can understand English.
