Hi PriusCpilot: My discussions with some of the reps on the show floor indicated it was not. Another tidbit is that this drivetrain is headed to the Altima Hybrid and its price will be the same as the Altima V6 costs currently. Wayne
Wow then that Altima Hybrid is going to be damn quick! I would love to have a miller cycle small CC engine Hybrid. If its supercharger then one that de-clutchs when off boost for less load or a small most efficient latest designed turbo available would also do the trick!
Eh, about right for a minivan. That's what this is, really. My Odyssey is 202" long, 37.7' turning circle. Except there's one thing missing. 16 cu ft of cargo behind the 3rd row? Try 38 in a real minivan like mine. If you're gonna be big, may as well be useful-big.
Well, yeah on the highway. I won't deny that the blind spots on my ET (and almost all modern hatchbacks and wagons) make lane changes tricky, and that better mirrors would help (though they're still a band-aid for automakers refusing to slim down their C and D pillars IMO). But changing lanes on the highway isn't my daily problem. Urban maneuverability is. There's no way around the difficulties presented by the PF's length and turning circle. That vehicle is going to have a hard time making U-turns on narrow city streets (which I must do daily), fitting into tight "compact" spots in urban parking lots (which I must do daily) or parallel parking anywhere outside downtown (which I must do daily). I know, I know, horses for courses. My criticism isn't so much that there's anything unusual about this in a 3-row car (although I'm always amazed by Americans' tolerance for wide turning radii across all vehicle classes), but more a snide aside on the fact that the PF has morphed from one of the original compact SUVs to effectively a minivan. Oh, except the PF's cargo volume is barely more than a Mazda5, which is 181" long and has a much better turning radius.
