Detroit, Home of the 2012 North American International Auto Show
Over 5,000 journalists have preregistered, two days of press conferences and more than 40 worldwide and North American vehicle introductions. LA was only a preview by comparison to what Detroit has in store. Detroit has hosted an auto show of one sort or another for over a century. For the first several decades of its existence, the show's focus was strictly regional. In 1987, that changed when a visionary group of auto dealers within the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) asked a bold question: Why not make the event truly national in scope? For that matter, why not make it the best auto show in the United States?
