Saturday morning , only drove from my house to girlfriend's.
Did not drive again until this morning.
In Woodridge , it was 34 deg F and still 34 in Elk Grove.
    Wind NW 20 MPH (ouch).
    23.3 miles , fcd = 65.0 x .945 = 61.4 MPG.
    Tank is at 612.9 miles , fcd = 67.9 x .945 = 64.2 MPG.
Last pip started flashing at 594 miles. Not sure if I want to
attempt the trip to my usual gas station in Naperville.
That would be about 640 miles.

Me.... I love to stretch my time (& miles) between fill-ups. However, during the ccp coronavirus crisis(U.S. death-rate up to 3.966%), we must NOT risk excess human contact with others, which running out of fuel most certainly could do.
Right now, I keep all our cars pretty full (which is easy so far, with major reductions of any excess travel), AND even have a few gallons left in gas cans. Tomorrow we have to deliver paintings to a gallery Spring & Mother's Day show (reduced from the normal exuberant & gala affair, adhering to ccp coronavirus safeguards, special showings, & using internet connections). After that, I'll try to get car tanks & gas cans filled up at the gas war town.

    P.S. U.S. death-rate leaps to 4.1089%, springing up 3.60% from this morning.

Filled up yesterday on the way home. 87 E10 was $1.879.
639.1 miles ( 45 miles after last pip started flashing)
    fcd = 68.0 x .945 = 64.3 MPG.
    639.1 / 10.02 gal = 63.8 MPG.
    Take yer pick.

I made a run to the feed store yesterday. I took the big van and picked up 650 lb instead of my usual 250. Won't have to go back so soon. MPG = bad, but the Fit can't do that load.

I also topped up the tank. It was still at 3/4 but I couldn't pass up $1.28 gas!

    Today , 31 deg F in Woodridge , 33 in Elk Grove.
Had frost on windshield ( no garage available ) so I
had to run front and rear defrost for a bit.
    23.3 miles , fcd = 66.7 x .943 = 62.9 MPG.
    Tank is at 344.7 miles , fcd = 63.1 x .943 = 59.5 MPG.

After leaving work yesterday , I did about 70 miles , much of it highway ,
to go to Midway airport , deliver my passengers to Naperville , then
    back to Woodridge. About 66 MPG ( fcd) x .943 = about 62 MPG.

Altho our Washington state still has "stay in place" orders & closures of non-essential businesses & activities, I took a drive. I would say there is considerably greater traffic (specially with sedans) & walking, running & bicycle activity, compared to one & two weeks ago. I noted a great increase of such actions, at some of the parking sites along & on the Centennial Trail that spans much of our county, north to south. Tho groups of people looked to be family-related, people & groups were passing each other on the wide blacktop Trail.

  16. I've been driving more since Covid and the stay home orders. But, I'm in health care. The lower prices and less traffic on the roads has been great. Been volunteering to deliver PPE to other smaller nursing homes in the county and that has been once or twice a week depending on when the county and state get shipments in. The back seat and bed of my truck are partially stocked with PPE supplies waiting for the word to deliver and where to deliver it. Got sent into a facility to set up a negative pressure isolation area due to a positive covid patient. Co-workers were kinda spooked that I got a call "we have a positive covid", and I'm on my way there. That was 11 days ago, no symptoms for me so far. No one positive in my workplace yet. It seems like it gets into a nursing home and goes nuts wiping everyone out.

Truck is getting close to 130,000 miles. Some are asking if I'm going to get a new one this year. 5 years old, I got a nice raise and promotion this year, and a ton of OT. Nope. I really want this truck to go longer than the last one. Need to see at least 400,000 on the odometer.

Hope you see it get to 400,000 miles & you aren't in a hospital as a patient.
P.S. Global ccp coronavirus death-rate continues up, now to 6.9173%. U.S. ccp coronavirus death-rate continues up, now to 5.4616%.

Today , 39 deg F in Naperville and Elk Grove.
    Wind E 6 MPH.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 62.8 x .943 = 59.2 MPG.
    tank is at 546.1 miles, fcd =64.4 x .943 = 60.7 MPG.
I will fill up on the way home today. Perhaps I will change
0.943 multiplier I have been using. I admit I just pulled
that number out of my ass. It's close to right , but maybe
I can get a little closer after I check this fill-up at the same pump tonight.

Corrections based on extra information is good.
P.S. My ass has never had accuracy to the third decimal place. If it had, I could have sent my ass to engineering classes & I could have stayed home.

Filled up yesterday at Amoco in Naperville for $1.839 for 87 E10.
    Toyota fcd said 64.9. 572.3 miles / 9.307 gallons = 61.49 MPG.
Last fill at same pump was April 13. 639.1 miles \10.020 gal = 63.78 MPG
For that tank , fcd was 68.0. Now , should I just take the miles
for these two tanks and divide by the total gallons ? Or should I
run one more tank and add all three for a better average ?

I am trying ( again ) to discover my true error on fcd.

Today , 45 deg in Naperville and Elk Grove. Wind E 3.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 65.2 MPG.
