When I used the Scangauge regularly , I wasn't happy with the way it reset ( the way it calculated a "day").

Now I only use it for coolant temp , horsepower , and RPM. Well , also for scanning codes.

I hadn't thought about that aspect of your hypermiling before... Do you use the hybrid setting in the SG2?

I got my first frost on the windshield and of course I usually park in the garage but not last night due to construction gear in my spot.

We will getting that first frost pretty darned soon. And I'm parking outside because I'm letting the kids use the garage.

Old Dadwin is getting squeezed out of his own house, lol. 75% of my stuff is in boxes in the garage.

Yes, I use Hybrid mode. On certain cars, the old software would count some small fuel consumption even when turned off. Something like a tenth of the idle fuel rate. Enough to really throw off the numbers after stopping at red lights and such. My old car was fine, the new Fit had the phantom consumption.

Besides that small "phantom consumption," mine also intermittently shows far larger "phantom consumption" (roughly 150% of idle fuel rate) when coasting at speed high enough the engine is rotated (i.e., above ~45mph) with fuel cut off. Therefore, it's impossible to get the calibration dialed in. Roughly one-third of the time, seemingly at random, it behaves properly in the same circumstances.

I will still keep on trying.
