Sounds like this van is good for a LONG time, Andrew. Today , 69 deg F , wind WNW 10 , started raining pretty good when I was 13 miles away from work. 35.0 miles , 62.22 MPG. Tank isn't hurt too bad at 332.9 miles , 70.12 MPG.

Coworker followed me at lunch as I limped the old van to trade in. The deal is complete and it's gone. Bought used, we had it for 10 years, 140,000 miles. Mostly dependable until now.

Congrats! Same year as our Chrysler. I think you'll like what vans are doing for FE these days. Transiting from PA to D.C. For vacation last year I saw mid-30s on the FCD on mostly 55 psl roads with hills not unlike E. Texas, easy deal with AC running and cruise set. Enjoy :)

Got a bunch of that rain in Cincinnati yesterday. Mid-afternoon saw 1.5-3" of rain in the span of about six hours. Had to keep speeds low, it got pretty hairy. Over 7 hours of wheels-rolling drive time, yet only 283 miles. Thus, 7.6mpg yesterday despite a very light load.

Today, another fairly light load, but traffic from road closures kept it from being the best it could be. 8.9mpg on 340 miles. Have about 300 to do tomorrow, but the stretch of I40 between Knoxville and Asheville is a twisty affair through the mountains, so don't expect any great numbers tomorrow. Really wish I had something along the lines of a Chevy SS or a Chrysler 300, perfect cars for the moderately technical sweepers...

Saturday morning went for an overnight stay at Crich (Derbyshire, UK) with my wife, 62°F, 7mph cross/headwind W:

    47.5 / 31.9

Did some walking, had a lovely pub lunch, went for a run, etc.

Sunday after breakfast went to a nearby garden centre (uphill, a few stops due to narrow lanes and passing places - horrid!), 11mph crosswind W, 57°F:

    29.1 / 4.8

Saw lots of lovely old cars on the road - these 2 (Sunbeam/Talbot?) were at the garden centre:

and saw this c1960 Ford Prefect 107E on the way:

Great run from there to our town (to collect some furniture), 11mph crosswind W, 66°F:

    56.9 / 24.2

    Town to home:

    40.8 / 2.3

    Tank up 0.2 at 46.7 (FCD 49.2) / 413.4 / Range 240 . Guess gauge F____|««««E . UG down 0.3 at 45.6 / DTE202

    Half tank @ 372 miles
