    Ford June 2016 Sales Overview

    In June, Ford sold 240,109 vehicles, up 6.4 percent over the 225,647 sold in June of 2015. YTD sales of 1,353,048 vehicles was up 4.6 percent over the 1,293,621 sold during the same 6-month period of 2015. Ford stated it was its best first-half performance since 2006.

    Ford truck performance remains the standout as has been the case in each month and year for quite some time. The company sold 96,354 pickups in June, up 24.2 percent over the 77,556 sold in June of 2015. YTD sales of 531,500 vehicles is up 12.5 percent over the 472,265 sold over the first 6-months of 2015.

    Lincoln sales of 8,809 vehicles in June were up 5.8 percent over the 8,326 sold during June of 2015. YTD sales of 2016 totaled 53,297 vehicles, up 13.1 percent over the same period of 2015.

    Ford June 2016 Sales Highlights


    Strong F-Series June sales of 70,937 vehicles lead the industry, up 28.6 percent over the 55,171 sold during June of 2015. Ford stated it was the F-Series best June sales performance in more than a decade.

    Another June highlight for the Blue Oval was sales of its Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi. Sales of the Fusion HEV reached 2,542 vehicles, up 50.3 percent over the 1,691 sold in May of 2015. YTD sales of 11,487 is off 9.4 percent below the 12,683 sold through the same 6-month period of 2015.

    The Fusion Energi reached 1,700 new drives in June, up a staggering 133.8 percent over the 727 sold in June of 2015. 2016 YTD sales of 7,235 is up 68.6 percent over the 4,290 sold during the same period of 2015.

    In June, VW market share was down a significant 0.5 percent from its previous 2.1 percent share. This is expected given the TDI emissions problems revealed last fall.

    Nissan share was up an eye opening 0.9 percent while Toyota was down the same. Ford was up 0.6 percent while GM was down 0.7 percent vs June of 2015.

    On a volume basis, June of 2016 US Auto sales of 1.51 million vehicles was up 2.7 percent over June of 2015s 1.47 million vehicles result.

    2016 YTD sales of 8.59 million is up 1.1 percent ahead of the 8.59 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    In June, FCA moved within 1,250 vehicles of overtaking Toyota for the 3rd position, Nissan overtook Honda for the 5th spot and Mazda overtook VW for the first time to occupy the 12th spot.

    The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in June was approximately 17.0 million vehicles. Calendar-year-to-date, the light vehicle SAAR was 17.3 million vehicles.

    [​IMG] Ford of Canada June 2016 Sales Results

    Ford of Canada regained the top spot as Canada’s top automotive brand in June with sales of 28,718, up 7.2 percent over the 26,784 sold in June of 2015.

    YTD sales of 149,942 was up 11.8 percent over the 134,147 sold through the same first 6-month period of 2015.

    Ford F-Series set records again as Canadians purchased more than 13,000 pickups last month, representing both the best-ever June sales and the third best-ever monthly sales in the truck’s nearly 70-year history.

    Lincoln sales were up 37 per cent in June, the 10th consecutive month of sales growth.

    [​IMG] Ford Maintains UK Market Lead

    Ford was the UK market leader in total vehicle, car and commercial vehicle (CV) sales in June. In addition, the brand achieved its highest June CV and fleet car sales volume on record.

    Ford total vehicle sales was 41,284 and a sales share of 13.9 percent was 3.1 percentage points ahead of nearest rival

    Fiesta is UK best-seller, Transit Custom and Transit lead CV sales

    Ford has five models in the UK top 20 – Fiesta (1st), Focus (3rd), Transit Custom (9th), Kuga (14th) and Transit (19th)

    Ford Fiesta, Focus, C-MAX, Galaxy, Fiesta Van, Transit Connect, Transit Custom, Transit and Ranger all lead their respective segments

    Ford’s Transit and Transit Custom commercial vehicles also benefit this summer with the launch of the all-new Ford EcoBlue diesel engine, delivering significant cost of ownership and performance improvements.

    The official figures released by the SMMT today show that total car sales in the U.K. during June were down 0.8 percent to 255,766 vehicles, compared with June 2015. Ford car sales were 30,244, 4,666 ahead of its nearest rival.

    Ford maintained its sales lead in retail car sales, which most accurately reflect the preferences of private buyers. For June, Ford is four percentage points of retail car sales share ahead of its nearest rival.

    The Ford Fiesta remains the UK’s best-seller with 11,357 sold in June, 2,520 sales and 0.9 percentage points of share ahead of its nearest rival.

    UK light commercial vehicle sales in June were up 2.7 per cent at 36,700 compared with June 2015. Ford light and medium commercials sales were 10,868 up from 10,547 compared with June 2015, corresponding to a 3.1 per cent increase compared with June 2015.

    [​IMG] Ford of China First Half Sales in China Up 6.0%

    Blows by the .5 million mark in the first 6-months of the year.

    Ford continued its strong performance in China with vehicle sales in the first half for Ford, Lincoln and its joint ventures reaching 577,097 vehicles, a 6 percent increase compared to the same time last year.

    Vehicle sales for Ford and its joint ventures in the first half were up 5 percent over last year to 564,647, with June accounting for 85,105 units sold. June results were 3 percent higher than June 2015.

    Demand for Ford and Lincoln SUVs continues to be high in the first half of 2016, with combined sales of the Ford EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, Everest and Explorer and Lincoln MKC, MKX and Navigator surpassing 150,000 vehicles, a 27 percent increase over 2015.

    The Ford Edge saw sales surpass the 50,000 mark during the first half. First half sales for the Ford Explorer increased nearly 50 percent over last year to 6,884.

    First half sales for Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), Ford's passenger car joint venture, reached 434,645 vehicles, a 10 percent increase compared to last year. In June, CAF sold 64,377 vehicles, up 4 percent compared to June 2015.

    Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford's commercial vehicle investment in China, sold 19,351 vehicles in June, an increase of 5 percent compared to last year. First-half sales totaled 121,514 vehicles, down 7 percent.

    Lincoln continues to see growth in China with 12,450 vehicles sold in the first half of 2016, up almost three-fold compared to last year. With this, the luxury brand already has exceeded last year’s full-year sales of 11,630.
