FE tips from VW - gas

    Just found this document in the Files section of the site:

    Interesting read - I like this bit: "Actually switching the engine off while the car is moving,
    a habit popular with more extreme members of the ┬╗hypermiling┬ź movement,
    is not only very dangerous, there is no technical justification for it either" :rolleyes:

    There's a European bias but worth a look, covers a lot of FE saving issues. It appears a typical VW Golf gets it's best FE at 40mph in 6th.

    Hi FRV:

    VW incorporated the FAS into the Touareg and Cayenne Hybrids just as it was described.

    Oh well, this is not the first item they have subverted the best way to achieve our numbers after reading our techniques here ;)
