I'm puzzled by the missing gallon. I topped it off three times. I ran it down to 1/2-2/3 gallon remaining. 11.7 gallons. I've done 13.8 before. 91.5*13.8 = 1262 miles, a lot more than 1069 I just did. My F, 1/2 and E tank marks look like it wasn't full, but I filled, looped the parking lot, filled again, looped again and filled again. I don't know what else I could do.

Your banner title should read "Uncatchable" Andrew. :D

It was the opposite for me... I filled-up 0.5l more than my previous biggest fill.
At all previous big fills the car had some "high rev at idle" moments. This time I got none of them. Sadly this 0.5l made my tank over 3.0L/100 :(

A gallon is 8 times half a liter...

Anyway with an additional gallon you are always the number one

As I missed the 3.0L/100 by only 0.7%, I decided to search how to get a real-time feed back from my car... I haven't found an injector signal yet. I found an injector sensor, but the voltage is constant (so the amp must variate...) not the kind of signal that may be useable.

At least I found the kind of connector that will permit me to tap a cable to get its signal without having to cut the cable, it only pinch it :)

    Have fun,

Congrats! Those are some huge numbers. When we're all HMing at our best, it's very difficult to increase the POE like you did, way to go!

OMG, are you kidding me? How long before you hit the magical 300% barrier? That is just awesome. You are officially my idol!

300% for a tank? It's not likely. This tank had the best driving conditions I've seen in 5 years of hypermiling.

I think if you hit 300%EPA we'll suddenly have world peace. ...or something magical will happen I'm sure.

    Pure excellence, andrew.

Don't count yourself out, you just did 291% (based on Challenge adjusted EPA).

Not very good last tank - driving with damaged battery caused I had to forget about "start/stop" button during stop on every traffic lights and there was no FAS option to even try. As usual most driving about 95% in city area, with loaded car.
    Today I filled up - 6.035L/100km (38.97MPG) :(
Finally I have new battery and seriously I think I need to install DRL's cause normal lights takes about 150W - it's too much for every battery during FAS glides (when you have to turn on lights during day)

    And yet another tank.
8.991 gallons (different pump, my regular was out of order...) over 314.4 miles for a nice 34.968 MPG 75% city tank.
Immediately after that fill up I had some highway only driving which was up to 42 mpg at it's highest, even will all the $&*% hills.
This next tank will hurt a little bit, as the aMPG will continue to fall as time and city miles wear on.

New battery and we are back on the track...
Latest tank and result 41.28MPG (5.69L/100km)
The best tank so far of course for only city driving.
Start/stop button in use, about 85% driving with loaded car... weather? Cold and little bit rainy.

I want to achieve 5L/100km for city area but I think it is impossible in this XIV Challenge :(

Still thinking about install DRL's, why?
My current car lights takes: about 12A per hour its almost 150W
Engine idling: I guess another ~10A

If I would like to introduce FAS during my glide sessions it will be pain in ass for my car battery in long time terms.
DRL's are pricey (I don't know about the US law but here in UE if you buy DRL's they have to have special approval so you can not install NoName lights) so I have to calculate it carefully one more time.

Well as you may have known the gen 2 Prius suffers from the "bladder problem" that makes fuel fillup not always consistent. It just so happened that the first tank filled unexpectedly more and the third tank unexpectedly less (as compared to ScanGauge estimates). I don't think the next tank will be anywhere close to the previous one. We will see...

That's OK, I just turned in the worst fill of my Challenge, by about 3/4 of an MPG. Only 45.5 this time. I'm hoping for some redemption on my next tank, which should be the last of the Challenge. And likely my last in the car...

still sitting 2 pips over half on the gauge, showing 396 miles of estimated range remaining. This tank may make it to Challenge XV

    Filled up on Saturday.
10.012 gallons over 358.2 miles for a not to shabby 35.777 mpg.
Victory (ie last place) is mine!!!
I don't think this next tank will be as good, as I'm starting with a lower aMPG and it's starting to get a little chilly...

Filled up today, should be the last tank of this challenge, solid second place finish again. Record breaking MPG weather seems to be gone for this year. See everyone in the next challenge.

Same here. I won't fill up again until October.

Agreed, the good hypermiling weather is behind us now. We've seen nights in the 40s and even a couple in the 30s already. And technically, it's still summer.

I'm trying to prepare myself for the drop in mileage and at the same time am eager to see what difference the EBH makes in my first winter with it.
