Just filled the last tank for this challenge.
... and it's an excellent one! Way to go!
Sitting a bit into 2 pips when I parked yesterday, the Nav is showing 38 miles range, the fill light will come on today or tomorrow, I'll be making my last fill before the month ends
I'm patiently awaiting the announcement of FE-15. I think I want to give it a try in c class and marathon. Hey, someone has to take a solid overall last place.
Just jumped to 3rd place in B! Personal record tank distance and fill, 709.6 miles (first 700+) with 14.589 gal yielding a PR 48.6 mpg!
Hey! Back off buddy, that's my turf!
I'm anticipating that I will take a huge hit as Michigan's winter weather comes rolling in. so you better watch your back.
Fighting for last... golden!
Funny thing is, you all will be doing better than most other drivers out there in comparable vehicles. Last here is still excellent! Last week folks! A reminder, please do not edit your logs for a week after the challenge is over! I will take a screen shot of the official results and post them to be in eternal CleanMPG history!
Excellent fill 2003protege, way to bring it home in the back stretch!!
Last tank of the challenge! (At least I think/hope so.)
9.116 gallons over 329.0 miles for a respectable 36.09 mpg.
Last place is mine! ([Daffy] It’s
mine! You understand! Mine! All mine!
Get in there, down! Down! Down! Go!
GO! Go! Mine! Mine! Mwahahahaha! [/Daffy])
I just posted my last tank of the challenge, as i am heaading out on vacation this week.
This has been my first challenge, and it has really helped by challenging me to hone my skills. I wasn't sure the Kizashi could put up these kinds of numbers, and i am really pleased with it. N wonder what my place is in the standings, i still feel like i won.
finally logged my last tank for this one this morning the fill was on the 25th
I had my oil changed (at the dealership, I was in the neighborhood and had time to kill) yesterday @ 6,000 miles and went with full synthetic.
The service advisor's reaction to my request that after the tire rotation, I wanted the pressures set to 48 front/43 rear was comical.
It'll wear the centers, it'll change the handling/steering etc. blah, blah, blah.
I informed him that, not it wont, they are already set that way so it changes nothing for me, etc.
On the invoice it even says to set the pressures that way at customer request, "against service advisor's advise".
The bad part is that my aMPG via Ultra-Gauge was @ 38.2 when I tendered the car over to them.
When they were finished the A/C was on and the aMPG was 33.5.
For the sake of broads and yutes, I'll refrain from repeating my reaction to this, even after telling them that the car has been running (mostly highway) for a little over an hour so no warm up should be needed................
Buuuut, let's hope the switch to synthetic will offset some of the loses when the weather changes.
I had the timing chain cover resealed at the dealer during the challenge and they burned 0.6 gallon of gas (1.6 MPG over 1.0 miles).
Next time, I'm going to record the elapsed time from the trip computer when I pull in (and show it to the "service advisor") and compare with the E/T when they're done.
I may just unplug the Ultra-Gauge whenever I get the car serviced from now on.
Final fill of the challenge, and in fact the final fill that I will put into the car. Not a good finish, just under 42 MPG. I'm not sure why, either, but I think that my previous two fills were at a station whose pumps do not fill the tank in this car as far as the one I finished in.
Saturday, Mango Bang will go home with a new owner. If you see him heading down to AZ, wave hi to him! He will probably get much worse MPG with his new owner, though I don't think he will have any less fun!
(Sorry for my last weeks silence... really busy and I use all free time to have a rest)
Registered my last tank last week-end : 1203.2 @76.248mpgUS = ChEPA + 145%.
I confirmed my 3rd place in div.A.
Thanks to hyperme to be in div.B
I'm far from my 83.3mpgUS & 1320mi dream for 2011...
Also my 2011 best 1268.9mi @77.847mpgUS isn't so much better than my 2010 best (1182.2mi @74.918mpgUS)
And my absolute mpgUS is under Mike's (Basjoos) while I have a diesel and my average speed is slower
Anyway I don't know anybody, physically, with a better consumption than mine
Dave, I'm really looking forward to seeing how you do in your new car -- post plenty of pictures!
Denis, we are definitely glad to have you back! There are always setbacks but the main thing is to keep trying. Did you see my post to you here about the FAS button arrangement?
Thanks, Sean. I'll get about 2 weeks of driving one of the Wife's cars (or maybe fixing up my Teener!), and then I'll have the break-in for the new car. I anticipate it will be at least winter quarter before I'm ready to really start trying for good tanks.
