    Second car - exactly right. My Civic almost never goes out of town. Any family trips are in the Odyssey. The ranges I drive within town, even on my busy days, are within the reach of the Leaf. It could do 99% of what my Civic currently does, with that extra 1% going to the Ody, which we already have. I see no limitation.

    Echoing the above responses ... millions of American families own second cars whose sole purpose is daily commuting. Most families who have a minivan, wagon or SUV for family roadtrips could replace their second or third commuter car with an EV, saving energy (and in many cases, money) in the process.
