Nice work, Denis!!!
I just got this record today.
36.5 MPG over 281.7 miles.
I have never broken the 35 MPG even in the summer. That was on only half a tank b/c I happened to get my ScanGauge too.
My personal bests would be:
53.2 mpg I achieved in the Paseo back in the late summer of 08 over 290miles
~30mpg in the Odyssey over 222 miles a few weeks ago. this one I almost felt prouder about, because its such a big beast and hypermiling with an automatic transmission is always more challenging.
The proudest I've felt was when I realized over the summer that I could start filling my tank every 3 days instead of every 2 days due to my hypermiling efforts. I've been filling every 2 days during my commutes for over 4 years - filling up 33% less often was pretty cool!
I hope to be setting some personal records in the Sentra once we get it fixed, but that project is still underway.
A couple of new records for me...
430 miles on one tank
Bringing my average up to (almost) 30
Over Saturday I hit one for me...
Now I if I could only keep that going.
This winter a French TV commercial was based upon the fact the cars can be driving 1300km (808mi) with a single tank. I got the aim of 1600km (994.4mi) that I pushed to 1610.9km (1001.2mi).
After my best tank at 1669.6km (1037.7mi) and a bad tank at 1459.2km (906.9mi), I got the aim to have 4 tanks with an average over 1000mi per tank.
I failed by 36km (22.4mi), but reached the 1600km/tank (994.4mi) which is enough for me noticeably with the city driving and traffic jam from last weeks.
AFTER a complete front/real allignment on my Insight 1:
- 150 MPG in the 14 miles, Mt. Airy to Frederick, MD. A drop of 800 ft. elevation
- 110.1 MPG for the hilly round trip.
I was thrilled because at last I think I understand some of my lack of FE previously. NOW I think I can get at some serious numbers.
- 49.5MPH in my friend's new Subaru Forester MT over about 6 miles. Lots of fas 'ing. I only made his teen age son jump out and push once. LOL. My friend was astounded!
For the hell of it I looked back on this post. I can't believe I was so excited over only 36 MPG. Now I would have to work to get that low.
Best tank mpg 24.733
Best tank dist 400.4
Still reaching for that 25 mpg tank, but looks like that will have to wait for next summer.
first trip over 30mpg was really exciting
first tank over 25 mpg felt huge
best tank: 756 miles, 26.2 mpg. Fuel light wasn't even on yet!
It was cool once I started glancing at the odometer and realized I had coasted over a mile
It was great to talk Dad into replacing his 10mpg gas work truck with a diesel (last I heard, he was only getting 14mpg, but he works it pretty hard, and it sure beats 10!)
I have 5:
My first 800 tank on 05/01/09 with 806.7 miles
My best tank which was my last one with 68mpg over 824.4 miles
My best tank during any Winter with 62.1 over 683.4 miles
My wife demanding a SG for her '05 CR-V
My wife asking me to ride with her and give her suggestions on improving her mileage in her CR-V.
I remember my old records and some are in my memory forever, as for example my first 1000km (622mi) tank. It's funny to see how it's easy for me now, but the first time I saw the trip odometer resetting to 0.0 after 999.9 is unforgettable
But from time to time some moments are as important to my eyes as these records. A first example is to see my wife applying techniques I talked to her a few weeks before. Another example is when someone is proudly telling you that he beat his best tank : a colleague of mine beating it by a third and my wife achieving a first 1000km tank
For my Scion xB:

51.5 mpg avg over 1213 miles from Gallup NM back to the Bay Area
59 mpg avg over 165 miles from Gallup to Tuba City AZ
75 mpg avg over 40 miles from Truckee CA to Reno NV
80 mpg avg over 30 miles from Truckee CA to Verdi NV
Longest tank 499.3 miles using 10.309 gal = 48.4 mpg
Ma and Pa are happy to report that after 56,883 miles 2,086.45 gallons of perfect reporting with our Honda CRV that we are averaging 27.239 m.p.g. and this is only 165 fill-ups or over 340 miles average per tankfull and we're over 111 % of EPA through some very cold long Vermont Winters. Thank -you "Cleanmpg" for this reporting forum and all of the educational threads. Jonathan.
2000 Ford Contour SVT (2.5L "there is no replacement for displacement" V6. Factory tuned for 200HP. Official 2008 EPA rating of 21 MPG. Fueled with E10.
Best day and commute to/from work - 66+ MPG .
Longest tank 997.xx miles.
Working on one right now. looking to break 412 miles and right now I am at 405. low fuel light is on. SG showing 9.6 galons used. I have a 12.8 gallon tank.
My regular 25km commute to work yields 4.8-5.2 L/100km (45-49 MPG) at rush hour, partial A/C use.
Last weekend, with wife & kids in tow and full A/C, the same trip at 11pm gave me 4.6 L/100km (51 MPG) ! :woot:
Rush hour traffic really kills MPG, not to mention the noise, the pollution, the rage...
Finally broke 15mpg lifetime average in the Mustang
7 tanks in a row over 17mpg
First tank over 20mpg in the Mustang (20,82mpg)
First tanks over 50 and 55mpg on the motorcycle (57,8mpg best; averaged 53mpg over 1500mi)
Separate names with a comma.
