Folks, I finally managed to stuff the tank to something more than 10.4g and I'm itching to try for a nice, LOOOOOOOONG distance tank record. ;)

So here starts my journal of the effort to exceed 1600mi on one fill using somewhere in the neighborhood of 13.5g while driving just my normal commute route. I'll keep the table below updated with my progress and post pictures of my FCD as I proceed. For this effort I'm keeping track of my current trip using the Segment FCD, my tank total under Trip A, and my daily total under Trip B. Each day I'll offer pictures of both Trip A and B in a new post to this thread.

Wish me luck as I try to push the boundaries!

That's it, folks!! I ran out on the way in to work this morning in the midst of heavy headwinds and rain.

    Final distance:

    1567.4mi

Fuel used was 13.558g yielding an actual mileage of 115.607mpg -- very close to the FCD!

    That sounds about right. :D

In keeping with my efforts to max it out I drove the Elantra today -- thunderstorms and possible hail don't make for high numbers. ;)

Go for it Sean!! These practical-use numbers are great. Presumably you WON'T be using the AC in the summer heat, so be sure to stay hydrated or your brain will get fuzzy and the numbers will slip!
